After the fall of the autumn campaign of wild carnivores against rabies, the effectiveness of the vaccination was started, delivery of the target animals to the institutions designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.
Veterinary specialist institute Kraljevo was designated to check the effectiveness of vaccination in the areas of Raska, Rasina, Moravica, Zlatibor, Pcinja, Jablanica, Nisava, Toplica and Pirot. Also, the screening of wild boars that have been cleared of the presence of the classical swine fever virus began. Hunting associations are engaged in the delivery of hunted wild carnivores based on the planned plan for the number of target animals that are in the instructions for the implementation of rabies monitoring for 2013/2014.
Instructions for the implementation of the monitoring, as well as the form for delivery of the target animals, can be downloaded from the section “Download / Monitoring-KKS-Besnilo. Hunting associations are entitled to a fee of 1000 dinars for each target animal delivered within the envisaged plan for the number of samples per each hunting area. Within the monitoring of wild boars for the presence of the virus of classical swine fever, hunting associations from the Raska Rasinski, Moravički and Zlatibor districts are submitting samples of organs (spleen, tonsils, lymph nodes) to the Veterinary Specialist Institute Kraljevo, blood samples, which are forwarded to the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine Serbia in Belgrade, to check for the presence of a classical swine fever virus.
Hunting associations, in addition to the above mentioned authorities, also submit samples of the diaphragm in order to check for the presence of trininellosis. A cash compensation is paid for the delivery of samples of wild boars in the amount of 300 dinars, and a cash compensation of 2,000 pounds of wild boar is reported.
