In the city of Padua, Italy, where is located the headquarter EU reference laboratories for avian influenza and Newcastle disease (after the “Brexit” process – process of UK leaving EU, the Laboratory in Weybridge has ceased to be EU reference) was held in the period from 19 to 21 June, 25th Annual Meeting of the National Reference Laboratories for Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease of EU Member States.
The National Reference Laboratory of the Republic of Serbia, which operates within the Veterinary Specialist Institute “Kraljevo” in Kraljevo, took part in this gathering, as in the previous years. At this two-day gathering, together with the analysis of the results of the Proficiency test, a series of lectures was held, all of the currently most eminent world experts in this field.
At the annual meeting of European and world experts, our national reference laboratory was represented by Dr Milanko Šekler. As in all previous years, the results of the final Proficiency test in 2019, have placed our laboratory in the category of the best.
The team of the National Reference Laboratory of the Republic of Serbia from Veterinary Specialized Institute “Kraljevo” in Kraljevo, consisting of Dr Dejan Vidanović, Bojana Tesović, DVM and Dr Milanko Šekler, continues to maintain and develop this important segment of the Veterinary Service of the Republic of Serbia.
